This is a 1 7/8" or commonly called a 2"

 
 

 This is used as a line post, terminal posts and in some commercial applications top rail.
 
 

 

This is how a 1 7/8" or 2" corner posts with 1 3/8" top rail is set up.
 

Note: the rail end on the top is angled down and the bottom is angled up.
 

This allows for correct alignment with the top rail to end up at the same height.
 

 
 

Also Note:
 

The tension bands installed next to each other and all of the bolts are facing in.
 

This makes for a clean looking finished product.
